Meet Savannah Tucker, Birth Photographer

Picture
Hi! My name is Savannah Tucker (pictured with the bubble tea). Ever since I was a little girl, I have always admired women carrying babies. Now that I am older, I think my admiration has increased, with a significant amount of respect, as well. In 2018, I got my first camera and immediately asked my friend if I could photograph her delivery. At first, she was hesitant, but after several conversations...SHE. SAID. YES. Since that time, I have had the opportunity to witness and capture four hospital births. It has become my new hobby, but I want to dive into the home birth world. Home birth has been something I’ve been interested in since I was a freshmen in college. The atmosphere and emotion could not be more intimate, and I want to be apart of such a moment in time.

I teach full-time during August through May, so my schedule is very busy. I understand that causes conflict with many mothers, but I do try my best to stay in touch, and if it is to where I am able, I do attend the birth. I also understand babies come on their own time, so it is very tricky to time out the process. In saying that, I charge $100 upfront, which includes my service for up to two hours, and edited, digital photos back within a two day period. Any time beyond the two hour mark of my arrival is $25 per hour. I hope that you will consider me for your upcoming home birth.

Barbara Katz Rothman once wrote, “Birth is not only about making babies. Birth is about making Mothers. Strong. Competent. Capable Mothers, who trust themselves and their inner strength.”
